China’s Answer to Forrest Gump Spends Ten Years On The Road

Former diplomat Li Changbo may not jog, but he more than eclipses the fictional Forrest Gump when it comes to stamina.

Ten years after quitting his job and starting off on the walk of a lifetime from Yangzhou city in Jiangsu province, east China, Li Changbo’s journey is nearly at an end.

The dedicated trekker is planning on taking a break soon to write a book  and make a documentary about his experiences.

He began his walk with a small backpack, a camera and a flag. However as technology enhanced Changbo was able to bring thousands of fans along with him, by keeping them updated via China’s social media, Weibo.

“People who weren’t able to come along with me were nevertheless with me every step of the way.”

“It was an amazing experience and I would never have swapped it for the world”
